New York – Day 2

Michael and I took very few taxis during our trip, so we got a lot of walking  and exercise in!  I really think the best way to “discover” New York is to just go out on the street and start walking.  We did just that!  Highlights from day 2 included:

• Empire State Building
• Macy’s
• JC Penney’s (this was my client at the time so I had to visit the new flagship store!)
• New York City Public Library
• Grand Central Station
• Chrysler building
• 5th Avenue and Madison Avenue (this is where the great stores are ladies!)
• St. Patrick’s cathedral
• Dinner at Scarlatto’s (Thanks for the recommendation Courtney!)
• Wicked on Broadway (Amazing!)

New York – Day 1

Michael and I took our first trip to New York City the week before Christmas. Those that had been before said ‘go during the winter time’ and ‘go just before Christmas’, so we did! Well…we fell in love. Don’t get me wrong…we aren’t looking to sale the house and move there, but we know this won’t be our last visit. We did as much as we could during our short time in the city and we got pictures of most of our adventures. I figured the best way to do this was to document the highlights of each day and include the best of the best pictures. I took over 800 pictures total…

4 Months!

I've had a few requests for belly shots (including my mother). I don't think anyone wants to see my actual belly, so I'll spare you all for now and keep it G-rated with my shirt down. I think I look bigger at night than I do during the day, but who knows. I could just be lying to myself.

Month 4

Heartbreak Warfare

My friend Courtney recently invited me to the John Mayer concert in Dallas at the AAC. I hadn't seen John in concert since the summer of 2008 and he just released a new CD. We went to dinner beforehand and then arrived in time to hear the opening band wrap up before John came on. He did an amazing job. The perfect mix of old vs. new and a few covers too. I'm wishing I had purchased a t-shirt after all! Thank you so much for the invite! I had a great time.

Coming Soon!

We're pregnant!! Michael and I are expecting our first child on August 25th! I don't think this is news to anyone that knows us, but I figured it deserved a blog post. I'm in my second trimester and I'm so glad that first trimester is O-V-E-R. I was sick often but I'm also told it's a sign of a healthy pregnancy.

Michael and I, and our families, are very excited about the new addition. I made a onesie with iron on letters that says "coming soon" on the front and "8.25" on the back to represent the due date. That's how we made the annoucement to our families. We find out the gender in just two weeks, but I've been seeing visions of "pink" for a while. Let's see if my visions are true!

Anyone still out there?

To say that I'm long overdue for a new blog post is an understatement. To anyone that may still be checking the blog for updates, please continue to do so. I was hit with what is known as a creative slump, but I've got a new spring design and I think I've found my way! I promise new posts (and good ones) are coming soon!

Turkey Time!!

Michael and I hope each of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving this year surrounded by family and good food! This year, we spent the holiday in Burleson and Fort Worth. Dad, Mom, Jared, Alicia, and I got up and participated in the Fort Worth Turkey Trot 5K. There were over 12,000 participants! Michael slept in and made sure the dogs didn't tear the house down.

After cleaning up, we headed over to the church and enjoyed a wonderful lunch complete with every possible traditional Thanksgiving Day dish (and then some). The dessert table is always a favorite and this year was no exception (mmm...cherry pie, pecan pie, cookies, cake balls). The weather was great, so the adults and kids played outside after lunch.

Once we got back to the house, Dad, Jared and Alicia hung Christmas lights outside, Michael and I watched football (good effort Aggies!) and Mom took a nap. We ended the day with leftovers for dinner. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.
